From its base in Van Nuys, California, 30-year-old charter transport and aerial film company Helinet Aviation has worked with VIP clients from multiple industries. Helinet Aviation’s history also includes its assistance to numerous patients in need of medical transport, and it is proud to continue as a provider of choice to Children’s Hospital LA. For two decades, the company has offered two medical transport helicopters to the hospital at no cost.
In 1987, Alan Purwin cofounded the company that would become Helinet Aviation. In the early 1990s, he began working with UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to provide critical vital organ transplant flights, in addition to offering free air transportation to Children’s Hospital LA. Today, Helinet’s medical airlift services are an integral component of the life-saving services of every large hospital in the region.
Among its other notable accomplishments, Helinet’s air medical crew played a major part in facilitating the Los Angeles area’s first-ever hand transplant.
In addition to her company’s transportation services to Children’s Hospital LA, the company’s CEO Kathryn Purwin serves the hospital as a board trustee.
